Seattle people, next weekend I’m teaming up with Max of Bondage Lessons to present the first in a series of workshops we’ve been working on for a while. The first is this Sunday, titled ‘Topping to the Next Level: Techniques for Thoughtful Tops‘, with more scheduled for the second Sundays in March, April, and May (’How to Push’, ‘Hot Negotiation’, and ‘Topping Styles’ respectively). Some of you have probably been to the popular workshops Erika and I have taught on stuff like ‘how to throw a flogger well’. This set is focusing on what we think it takes to really make a good scene- structure, skills for building and maintaining connection, creating tension- the often-neglected but very important soft skills. We won ‘Best Hardcore’ in The Stranger’s Hump 2007 Amateur and Locally Produced Porn Contest. We’d created Pirate vs Ninja for the first one a couple years ago, and this year they asked us very nicely to send something in. We edited down ‘Everyone Likes Candy‘ into a seven-minute package and called it ‘Lauren Likes Candy‘. The audiences thought it was pretty intense, but still voted for us for Best Hardcore (as opposed to Best Funny/Erotic, the other prize).

Lauren will add to this at some point, just wanted to get something up. ^-^

The Stranger, our favorite local weekly here in Seattle, is running their amateur and locally produced porn contest for the third year. We created Pirate vs Ninja for the first year. Last year we didn’t do anything, this year we had some neat ideas but didn’t have the time to put anything together, until we got a very sweet note from Dan Savage (the editor) asking if we could _please_ submit something, even if we hadn’t shot it specifically for them. I gather he liked PvN, which makes me happy. ^-^
So, we edited Everyone Likes Candy down into a seven-minute short (and by ‘we’ I mean Red, our wonderful editor) and retitled it ‘Lauren Likes Candy’. It’s pretty intense, I’ll be interested to hear how it goes over with the audience. Very unfortunately, Lauren and Red and I will be on the East Coast the weekend they’re showing everything, but we’d love to hear from anyone else that does go!
Speaking of going, the first four screenings sold out, they added two more and those sold out, they added one more today and it hasn’t sold out yet. Ticket and other info at the Hump! site.

We’ve bumped the prices on our shoots a bit- older or shorter ones are staying the same, as well as halves of two-part scenes, but the rest are going up by a buck. We’re still inexpensive, that’s an average of 35-40 minutes of professionally-edited, 640×480 video for $10.99. We price low because we want to encourage you to buy more than one, and maybe even take a chance on shoots you’re less sure about.
To balance out the price increase, we’re also adding short ‘quickies’ to our store. These are shorter clips of some of our favorite parts of scenes. For instance, the full edited version of ‘Hurting Sadee’ is 37 minutes. We did all kinds of stuff in there, but there’s one little six-minute-and-some segment that stands alone nicely. You don’t get me working her over with the riot baton (too short if we just do either her standing against the rack or kneeling with her thumbs cuffed behind her, too long if we include both). It doesn’t include the breath play, edgy face slapping, or much of the breast slapping in the full shoot, no interviews or pro-quality still pictures. You do, however, get some great footage of her struggling to take the weighted ’slapper’. Just a bit of lightly tapping her face with it, then working over her tits. She pouts (beautifully) once, so I keep slapping one of her breasts with it until she can pout on command a second time- tougher than you might think. I also really like her reaction to me tapping on her clit, I think Sadee’s the only girl I’ve met who’s ticklish in quite that way. So, she jumps and squirms in a very pleasing manner, then I escalate to hitting a little harder and a little further back so there’s some nice thud in a friendly place, and she really clearly enjoys it. Hot and wank-worthy just by itself.
We’re experimenting with making these available as both QuickTime and Windows Media files- our normal stuff is QuickTime, I think it looks a little better, but this way you can choose for yourself. The store areas should be identical, or close to it- if you prefer QuickTime hit the ‘Quickies (.mov)’ part of the store, if you’d rather buy in Windows media format go to the ‘Quickies (.wmv)’ section. Or, just go to the full-length section and buy the full scenes in Quicktime format. Either way, we’ve bumped the encoding quality a smidge for quickies, since the video is shorter thus the file size doesn’t get too ridiculous.
One of my other partners and I are teaching a verbal play workshop at the Wet Spot this Saturday titled ‘Talk Like a Deviant’. It’s one we’ve done before- intense but good, both scary and hot. I’m really excited about a workshop here in Seattle this Sunday: Moving Bodies Through Space: Body Manipulation and Control to Enhance Your Bondage Scene. Not a takedown workshop exactly, but it’s a lot of the same skills. Lauren and I are going, along with some other people we know…
Sleepy so not with the eloquent, but if you’re in town this should be well worth the Sunday afternoon.
We’re canceling the intermediate flogging workshop- just not enough registrations to make it worthwhile. A class with Erika and I plus two stunt bottoms, teaching two or three people, seems kinda silly. ^-^ We’ve got time slots in March and May, I think we’re doing Caning and either Verbal Play or another Basic Flogging but not sure.
It’s interesting how sparsely-attended this workshop always is, compared to Basic Flogging or any of the others. My guess is that people are put off by the label ‘intermediate’, but I’m not sure what else to call it. I’m of the belief that ‘advanced’ is something you really need to learn for yourself, but we teach the framework to build from in this one. Maybe ‘Building Blocks of Advanced Flogging, Nothing You Can’t Handle?’
One of my other partners and I teach a series of workshops on various SM skills here in Seattle- ‘Intermediate Flogging’ is coming up next weekend. The focus is on scene building, along with a few more advanced technical skills. The beginning class we work on a lot of basic skills, this one is more about how to turn those skills and some new ones into a really good scene.
The class is next Sunday, January 28, at The Wet Spot, from 2-6pm. Cost is $35, if you’d like more details drop a note to flirtsinc@metalcat.com.
(We usually end up running this one every year or two, as opposed to ‘basic flogging’ which averages about twice a year. )
One of my other partners and I teach various workshops on BDSM skills here in Seattle, one of my favorites is coming up this weekend. We’ve been teaching this particular class maybe twice a year since at least 2000, and it’s really fun to teach because there’s such a visible difference between people coming in and going out. It’s a lot of work, but much easier to feel accomplished afterwards compared to, say, the verbal play workshop where the skills change is less physically apparent.

Those of you in Seattle should really make sure to go to Cirque du Noc this Saturday. Much shopping at the bazaar, then a show/fashion show/auction, then a very shiny fetish ball. This will be the third year we’ve done this (I DJ, and handle sound and lights for the ball), the other two were quite fun.
Last year we did the fashion show/auction and the fetish ball in the same space. Even with a couple days to prepare for it, the changeover from clear stage for the show to lights, tables, and sound system for the ball was, um, exciting. This year we’re holding it at the Seattle Center, with a dedicated space for the ball. Look forward to seeing you there!
We’ve finally got both the new pay-per-download store and the blog up and running! I’ve written a whole slew of scene descriptions/comments for the shoots we’ve got up in the store so far (see below). We’ll get more up pronto- any requests? We’d also be happy to hear from you about our shoots, just comment in the post for the specific scene. Remember that the models, camerapeople, etc. will likely read your comments- don’t be a jerk. ^-^ We’ll moderate as appropriate.
Oh man, where did October go? Russell has been waiting for me to get blog entries written for my shoots so that he could launch this blog, but I am the Princess of the Land of Overcommitment, and it hasn’t gotten done yet.
In my defense, I work at a goth club. The end of October in a goth club is like…well, if you worked in a sports bar, and New Year’s Eve, Super Bowl Sunday, and St. Patrick’s Day all fell within a week of each other, you’d be able to sympathize. Maybe.
Also, I’m in the middle of midterms. AND I dropped my laptop on the floor and broke it and for some funny reason, school administration frowns on my working on porn sites from the computer lab.
Anyway…blog entries about the actual shoots from me will be up Real Soon Now. Promise.
